Trident University International Reviews:

ONE OF THE BEST ONLINE SCHOOLS

I have taken classes in different university and colleges due to the constant moving. I have been with Trident University International for five and a half years. I have completed my BSBA in Government Accounting and Contract Management and now I am completing my Masters in Leadership. I have read the other reviews and I noticed that people said that the only material they school give is youtube videos, this is far from the truth. The students have access to more than ten different online libraries including Proquest, Barnes and Noble and others, which you can save and/or print (depending on the source). The videos are recommended for those who learn by visual instruction. Personnel/Staff - if you have any issue with someone and you let the Chief of the department they will resolved it in 24 hours. I had three issues, including the first advisor assigned to me for my Masters that was rude. I contacted the previous advisors and she talked to the Chief of that department. In few hours the new advisor called me and give me the ins and outs to complete my Master degree. No only they resolve the situation they took care of the issue and rectified the situation. For my Bachelor I have the same advisor for 4 years and she was wonderful. The advisor for my Master, she is also wonderful and knowledgeable. No matter that I have encounter with my medical challenges, they were there for me, supporting me to complete my degree. The classes are not that easy how people posted here, you need to read, research, and be eloquent at the time preparing your work. In total, from my four schools I have gone to, this one is the best. I completed an MBA (Logistics) with Trident University and started an MSL program with them. If I had to do it over, I would not waste my time and money on this program.

This is a very good school. I see a lot of posts that there are not enough instructors for the courses. How many instructors does someone need for each class? I agree that you get what you put into each class. If everyone hasn't realized, taking classes online is the way the majority of colleges are going. Any question that I have asked the instructor was answered in a professional and timely manner. They are flexible with everyone's busy schedule. I always recommend this school to anyone continueing their education.

I have taken classes at mulitple universities, both in traditional and online formats. TUI is clearly not a school to attend if one does not like writing research papers. The robust learning modules force one to research, comprehend, and logically present concepts. Some of thier classes force one from the realm of conceptual learning to live hands on practicums that I have never done in other institutions of higher learning. If someone has a problem with the school or faculty here, they probably would complain about any institution. I did notice in the past couple of years the classes have become tougher. Not to mention names but two major schools I attended in Colorado, required much less effort to complete courses. I am very pleased with the experience and professionalism of the staff. I surpised at the quality of instruction and level of learning.

Excellent program, Excellent Faculty

Before choosing Touro University International (TUI), I researched pretty much all of the MBA programs that were offered online. TUI appeared to be the most beneficial for me do to cost, flexibility, and being 100% online accessible. When I first saw that the assignments for each module consisted of writing 3-5 page, I wondered if this was just a diploma mill. However once I started the research and writing, I found that in order to fully answer the questions posed, most of my assignments turned into 20+ page papers. As others say, you get what you put into it. If you choose to try and answer in 3-5 pages you will find your answers lacking and will be graded appropriately. However, if you want to learn you will find yourself doing more in-depth research, rather than just reading the material provided. Yes, some of the links on the CDs do not work; however Google is a wonderful tool. If you want to learn, you will find the information you need. To me, this is a better method than textbooks. Texts are slow and costly to update. By using current articles (either by CD, link, or research) you are provided up to date information, research, and opinions. I actually rarely used the links on the CDs, I usually researched more current articles available online. I feel this provided me a greater breadth of available knowledge. The instructors are available when you need them. I never had to wait more than a day to receive a response. Their feedback is generally very helpful. However, I did have one instructor who was not as helpful as the others (out of 16 courses); but there are poor instructors at every school. The fact that only 1 in 16 at TUI was lacking is a whole lot better than the ratio at San Diego State where I did my Bachelor's work, there it was 1 in 16 who were good. Or at Florida Institute of Technology where I did my Project Management degree, only about 50% of their instructors satisfied me. I am extremely satisfied with TUI's professors. I find that my MBA knowledge is far superior to those I know who have earned degrees at other non-resident or part-time programs. Of course it is hard to rival a resident degree, but TUI is superior to any other non-resident program I have observed. For the poster who claims that a "friend" turned in his paper at another university and received an "F", I see many flaws in his scenario. First, universities catalog papers now. It was likely that his "friend" got caught plagiarizing. Second, was the topic even comparable? Third, what is the poster angry about? Is he making up a story to try and discredit the university? I see no credibility to his argument. More often on sites like this we see someone who is angry about something (bad grade maybe?) and slams the school. I would look at the totality of reviews and discard those outliers. Bottom line: you won't be disappointed with TUI, if you put the effort in to learn. This is the same with any program of instruction.

Crappy Education

I have taken a few classes at TIU and walked away from each feeling cheated. Here is why, the teachers are subpar when you can get a hold of them. Most of all, the school programs are out dated...they provide a CD ROM and that is it. No textbooks which can be revised through new editions. I moved over to NU and couldn't be more happier with my decision. I want an education, not just a diploma.

Great School/ Not a degree mill

MBA Strategic Leadership - February 18, 2009

I am extremely satisfied with my degree program at TUI (hate the name BTW). Unlike a previous poster's experience, I use the topics I have learned on a daily basis in management. I found the areas of marketing and finance particularly challenging (as did many of my colleagues). This school just as challenging as Florida State University where I recieved my undergraduate degree. Did I have to search the online libraries for much of the material? YES. Did I have to write thought provoking papers versus taking the traditional exams? YES...But that's the point. I was not spoon fed, and I got out of it exactly what I needed. The flexibility of working anytime and anywhere far outweighed the downsides of an online program, and TUI's faculty exceeded my expectations. I think that too many times, really naiive people seek a definitive and direct connection between their scholastic world and the real working world without realizing that the concepts and development of critical thinking are what are truly important. I will recommend TUI to anyone who belives an in-residence program will not mee their needs.
