Trident University International

This was a colossal waste of time in terms of the quality of the education. Here is the positive, the only positive, it is regionally accredited. That being said, I was able to take my worthless BSHS and apply (and get accepted) into a credible state university system for a Masters program. I started with Trident, back when it was Touro. I took a class and ended up being deployed half way through. They were kind enough to allow me to withdraw, without any financial obligations. Several years later (about 4 years), I retook the class. The background readings, labeled as current, were exactly the same as they were 4 years prior. In fact, not a single aspect of the course or materials changed in that time. Further proof of the inadequacy of the program, I spent an average of one hour writing each of my essays. My overall GPA, 3.8. I spent less than 12 hours TOTAL on an entire course and never received a grade lower than 3.0. This would be fine, for the lazy, if the degree mattered. I used to put the degree on resume, until I started to notice I received more job offers when I submitted a resume without the degree listed. After several interviews, I found the interviewers looked at the degree negatively. ALL IS NOT LOST! Some schools will allow you transfer in credit from Trident. If you have already started, apply to a state university. Many, most in fact, state universities have 100% online schools. Their degree programs are legitimate and employers will view them as an asset. Avoid TUI.

After three months and no word on whether or not it was going to be resolved I bombed everything. Now I have to pay the $2000 back and have no credit achieved at all!! Very disappointed!! Would not recommend this school to anyone unless they are military and using military financial aid coverage. Then be ready to write a lot of papers!!!!

I completed their BSHS. As a wife, mother, and Soldier it worked for my demanding lifestyle. I sometimes wonder if I made the right decision. When I tell people I received my degree from Trident they look at me as if I'm speaking a foreign language. You definitely get what you give. You basically teach yourself the content via research and background readings. If you aren't self-motivated this school is definitely not for you. I want to do their MSHS, but I'm concerned about how it will be accepted in the civilian sector. I prefer online learning because of its portability, but I'd like to go to a "traditional" school.

I will never attend this college again total nightmare. They are very slow with everything. No books all you do is write papers. I did not learn anything attending school here. If you are lazy this is the place to be. The school sets deadlines for assignments but they actually give you to the end of the semester which is astonishing. I worked hard to get all my assignments in on time then you have others who turn in work late with no repercussions. If you want to be prepared for your career and be knowledgable please do your self a favor and go to another college.

I took 2 classes and being in the military didn't help. Due to current ops I wasn't able to complete some of the assignments since I wasn't able to "interview" someone in the field of nursing. I emailed both professors and after 4 weeks got a reply. I wasn't able to complete the course and am trying to get a "try again" thru them. The material on the cd's was horrible...just links, no material. Seriously?? Come on I don't always have access to the internet and would like to read out in the field. Also the navigation through their site was garbage. Won't take another class through them again. For Profit = Garbage. DeVry was the same way.

The staff is lazy and everyone give conflicting information. The one student one stop and FA are the worst. You have to call again and again before you can get the right answer. And for a 1000 dollars a class they should offer book not links to web pages that have nothing to do with the class or assignment.

After taking two classes and reading the caliber of mandatory 'posts' from these so-called screened students - I must say, this school is for the unwashed / uneducated masses that think they need this sort of education. The 'teaching' that goes on is sub-standard to super poor. The assignments are book-reports that are graded too easily (I tested - several times - these professors with my own 'easter eggs' in the papers. Bottom line - they don't read the papers and give out Bs or As). The material given is an absolute J O K E. Also, the credibility of this degree is in SERIOUS question. I have several peers that completed this 'Education' and have not been able to get through promised 'doors' Trident's evil marketing team sells. Unfortunately this school is a bottom feeding for-profit (making a lion share of it's money from the government/military). AVOID at all costs. Your local community college is cheaper and gives you a better education (I've tried both Trident and CC -- it is a fact). If you want a degree handed to you for no effort, and minimum learning, Trident is the way to go.

I am seeking a different school for the fact they are likely to lose their accreditation and the military no longer acknowledges their degree plans as a means to a commission. Initially I was quite impressed with this University until I tried to transfer my degree to a different Graduate University. Now Trident University International is holding my transcripts hostage. As they face potential loss of accreditation due to poor record keeping the school refuses to forward my transcript as I apply for Grad School. They keep adding schools I have attended to the list of previous transcripts they require in order to release my transcript. Even though they already had on record all transcripts from schools which they transferred in to meet my course requirements for my BSHS degree. I graduated over 2 years ago and now they want me to provide other previous transcripts. They willingly took my fee for the transcript but have continued to delay sending my transcript. I understand the dilemma they have placed themselves in by not requiring this before I enrolled and graduated. But to now hold my transcript hostage as they seek out every student who has attended and try and get all of their previous transcripts is ridiculous.

As an active duty military member, husband and father of five, I chose TUI based on the cost, convenience, and the fact that they were regionally accredited ( I'd read enough horror stories to stay away from national accreditations). My initial motivation was to find a school I could stick with from beginning to end, throughout deployments and unusual work schedules, etc. What I eneded up with was a degree from a school that I found challenged me at every turn. I got very good grades most of the time, but I can honestly say that I earned every one of them. When my work was not top-drawer, my grades reflected that. The professors inspired me to continue with my education throughout - one especially who, whiloe still early in my pursuit of a bachelor's degree - told me that he thought I should absolutely seek to earn a Master's in a particular subject. In fact, I believe he said it would be a crime if I didn't. The support staff was always very helpful, including making calls to my home on many occasions to answer my questions. The Financial Aid staff was always helpful, too. When I had to switch from one type of tuition payment to another, they did the majority of the work for me. They did everything they could to make the financial side of my education painless, so I could concentrate on my classes. Overall, a great experience.

I started TUI University in the winter of 2008 and I really enjoyed my learning journey at TUI. The instructors were very helpful and responded to my emails in a timely manner. I really truly believe that they want to see you succeed and this is what really matters to me. The course material is challenging and requires a disciplinary attitude towards research. I have read many reviews on students saying that they made "A's" without doing much work or not knowing much about the coursework. Well, I would like to know how? I worked VERY hard and received comments from many of my instructors about my essays. I know that I could not have finished my degree without God's strengthen, my family support, and TUI's course work extensions. I like TUI so much that I'm currently enrolled in the Masters of Education in Arts program.

The financial aid department is a NIGHTMARE. You have to send things over and over and over and when you try to email someone to get some sort of an answer you never get an email back or a call back. No one seems to know what they are doing. And to be honest I barely had to work at writing papers and got A's. I like the way the modules were set up and that's about it. Not worth it! Go somewhere else.

HI, Im currently at TUI and love it. It's alot of hard work but worth it.

I graduated from TUI University with a B.S.H.S in Healthcare Management Dec 2008, and I have to say I loved the school. I enjoyed it so much that I am pursuing my M.S.H.S. in Health Education this coming Spring semster. TUI is not a university for the lazy,undisciplined or faint of heart. As a few fellow posters pointed it, it starts out easy, but by the last few papers you are really getting your moxy's worth, and whether or not you learn anything depends entirely on you. I decided on TUI after having horrible experiences with AMU and UOP,as a matter of fact I almost gave up entirely on online institutions, until a colleague mentioned TUI, and I have never looked back or regretted my decision to attend. Online colleges are alot like life. They are about choices. Some choices will take you further than you want to go. Keep you longer than you want to stay and cost you more than you want to pay. So you have to choose wisely.

I was before with UMUC and didn't like it because of the lack of consideration they have toward military members. I decided to take classes with Touro and haven't had no complaints with them in the year that I've been with them. Courses are a little bit expensive, but TUI makes up for it by giving military members military discounts and up to 2 free classes. I love them!

This is my fifth term with TUI and I have to say overall it’s a good school, and I have attained new knowledge because of the classes I have participated in. I also have taken classes at other institutions and have to say that over all it’s on par with most online schools. Are they easy graders I think they could be tougher but the truth of the matter is most adult schools go easy on the grades because they take into account life experiences, family life etc. TUI is properly accredited by WACS, this is a regional accrediting agency and this type of regional accreditation is highly prized by colleges. A regionally accredited degree can be transferred to almost any school, and if your grades and GRE’s are good enough you will be able to get into a good grad school. One last note if your looking for a Yale, Harvard, NYU or any other ivy league education TUI might not be for you, but last time I checked Yale didn’t offer classes for $750.00 each nor do they offer online degrees that fit within an busy adults lifestyle.
