Embry Riddle Aeronautical University

Met the last president of EARU who told me that ERAU had a partnership with my employer and it would 'be an easy degree program.' Went to the local campus who assured me that the classes are geared for working professionals. 5 classes in, and no professor has been willing to work with my work schedule or travel schedule. Campus has not offered any classes online, and demands I drive 19 miles to sit in a physical classroom with one other student who almost never shows up. Ridiculous. Most professors count participation as part of grades- because I guess we really aren't professional adults. Of the 5, only 1 professor has been what I consider good. The others all read power points to you in class; often times, presentations given to them that they didn't even make themselves. APA formatting is more important than content, so no need to learn anything beyond how to cite and make a running head. I have been vocal about my desire to have online classes that were flexible, and so far have not found even one online class offered. Have not yet used the 'required' book for any of my classes. Other students have also been vocal in chats about signing up for the flexibility and being in the same position, so I know I am not alone. As far as value goes, classes at ERAU are actually more expensive than the state college here. Go for the easy A, but don't expect to learn anything. Industry doesn't respect the school/degree either- co-workers have even made comments about it to me.
